BAHRAIN’s much-awaited comic convention, Bahrain Comic Con, was officially inaugurated yesterday.
The spectacular two-day event features meet-and-greets with several pop culture celebrities along with cosplay competitions, an Artist Alley and local vendors.
More than 25,000 people are expected to attend the event that will be held at the Bahrain International Circuit until tomorrow.
Last night, organising company Dallah Promotions held a Press conference at Dana Mall, in partnership with LuLu Group.
Comic book artist David Angelo Roman along with The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi actress Leilani Shiu shared behind-the-scenes experiences from their professions.
They said they were looking forward to meeting their admirers in Bahrain, adding that it was their first visit to the country.
Meanwhile, Dallah Promotions managing partner Saud Bukhari expressed his excitement over the convention, which is returning after a two-year hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“LuLu Group constantly supports cultural events and aims to involve the local community in them,” LuLu Bahrain marketing manager Jabran Zakariya told the GDN.
Bahrain Comic Con is being held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
