THOUSANDS of people flocked to the Isa Town campus of the Indian School on Thursday to enjoy the second day of ISB mega fair, being held after a gap of three years.
Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava inaugurated the food festival.
Indian Embassy second secretary Ravi Kumar Jain, director of information and follow-up Yusuf Yaqoob Lori, ISB honorary chairman Prince S Natarajan, honorary secretary Saji Antony, vice-chairman Jayafar Maidani, principal V R Palaniswamy, Riffa campus principal Pamela Xavier and fair committee office-bearers, among others, were present.
Mr Natarajan, who presided over the function, thanked teachers, parents, students, organising committee members, the media and other well-wishers who played a key role in making the event a grand success.
Every year, the Indian School gives fee concession to around 1,000 deserving students who face financial difficulties, Mr Natarajan said yesterday, adding that the fair, organised to raise funds for this purpose, was receiving huge public support.
In his inaugural address, Mr Srivastava appreciated the academic excellence of the school, its organisational skills and the dedication of teachers.
Indian singers Siddharth Menon, Mridula Varrier, Sachin Warrier, Avani, Vishnu Siva and Abdul Samad entertained the audience.
The fair ended last night with a musical night led by Bollywood singer Bhoomi Trivedi.
