HIS Majesty King Hamad received a cable of congratulations from Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) president, on the council’s 25th anniversary.
HRH Princess Sabeeka said the national milestone is being celebrated this year under the theme ‘25 Years at the Heart of the Reform Project’, coinciding with the King’s declaration of 2026 as the ‘Year of Isa Al Kabeer’, in celebration of the founder of the modern state and the leader of institutional development, His Highness Isa Al Kabeer.
She highlighted the SCW’s achievements since its establishment by the King, noting its role in strengthening Bahraini women as equal partners in national development.
“The SCW has become a leading institution in developing policies and strategies, proposing legislation, and launching initiatives to empower women and Bahraini families, guided by His Majesty’s vision.”
HRH Princess Sabeeka expressed pride in Bahraini women’s successes across leading positions in various sectors, noting that they had become an example of competence and excellence, thanks to the King’s support.
She commended the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for implementing His Majesty’s policies that promote equal opportunities, and greater participation by women in development and decision-making.
HRH Princess Sabeeka recalled women’s national achievements that have become an integral part of the kingdom’s development process. She affirmed to His Majesty that the council would continue to fulfil its national mission with dedication and responsibility by developing high-quality initiatives, strengthening partnerships with top institutions, and looking ahead to the future in line with national development priorities.
His Majesty responded with a cable thanking HRH Princess Sabeeka, expressing pride in the SCW’s Silver Jubilee. He recalled establishing it to advance women’s affairs and support HRH Princess Sabeeka.
The King commended her efforts in advancing the role of Bahraini women, noting the progress achieved under her leadership was a source of admiration and pride.
He said the occasion coincides with Bahrain’s celebration of 2026 as the ‘Year of Isa Al Kabeer’, which reflected Bahrain’s continued commitment to building a state based on institutions, and the rule of law, where women hold a prominent position.
He affirmed HRH Princess Sabeeka’s positive role in advancing Bahraini women and building a society based on justice, competence and balance.
The King also expressed appreciation for her efforts and those of the SCW and its members, wishing them continued success.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also received a cable from HRH Princess Sabeeka on the Silver Jubilee.
She reflected on the remarkable achievements and milestones attained by Bahraini women, attributing them to His Majesty’s vision and the government’s continued support, under HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
She expressed her appreciation for the continued support extended by HRH Prince Salman to the SCW, its programmes, and its initiatives.
HRH Prince Salman sent a cable of thanks to HRH Princess Sabeeka, affirming that the achievements attained by Bahraini women since the establishment of the SCW are the result of the support of His Majesty.
“The SCW has played a pivotal role in strengthening the contribution of Bahraini women across all sectors and enhancing their standing, making them a model of women’s advancement.
“The achievements of the SCW throughout its distinguished journey have been made possible under HRH Princess Sabeeka’s leadership, whose guidance has laid the foundation for the progress achieved by Bahraini women,” he said.
HRH Prince Salman affirmed the government’s commitment to making women’s advancement a strategic priority.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing the SCW with all necessary support to achieve its objectives during the next phase.
