On the occasion of the 51st National Day of Bahrain, Pakistan Club chairman Rehan Ahmed has the following words to say:
“On behalf of the Pakistan Club, executive board, club members and Pakistani community, it gives me immense pleasure to extend warm greetings and felicitations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the brotherly people of Bahrain on the National Day of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“People from the Pakistani community have resided in the kingdom for many years and this might be inferred from the fact that Pakistan Club was formed in Bahrain in February 1948, a short time after the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was established in August 1947.
“The Pakistani community along with our Bahraini brethren will be commemorating National Day celebrations with great fervour and enthusiasm and special programmes have been planned on this auspicious occasion including many sports tournaments.
“A grand ceremony will be held on December 16 during which the efforts of the Pakistani diaspora will be highlighted, and winners of the sports event recognised.
“Musical and children’s programmes will also be organised to pay tribute to the people and the leadership of the kingdom on this auspicious occasion.
“Long Live Bahrain-Pakistan friendship!”
