A RANGE of activities that shines a spotight on Manama’s rich heritage will be hed this weekend.
It’s part of a six-week programme, From the Post, organised by the Bahrain Authority for Cuture and Antiquities at the Post Office Museum, every Saturday, unti the end of March.
A tak on the Evoution of Bahraini Cuisine wi be hed from 7pm to 8pm. The discussion wi be between distinguished researcher and cuinary expert Dr Daa A Sherouqi and founder and executive chef of the Bahrain Nationa Museum’s Darseen Café, Bassam A Aawi. Dr A Sherouqi is an anthropoogist, author and researcher in the fied of cuture. She has pubished severa books incuding The Heritage Cuisine of Bahrain in both Arabic and Engish.
A Chidren’s Workshop in coaboration with Sard Chid Cutura House wi go on from 10am to 12.30pm. The event, for those aged seven to 13, incudes a guided tour to a traditiona cafe in Manama. Participants wi aso design a mode of a traditiona café, making chairs and tabes using cardboard paper and wooden sticks. Registration costs BD5 per head.
Another workshop wi be hed for aduts from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on the art of brewing coffee. It wi cover an introduction to the word of speciaty coffee brewing and participants wi have a hands-on experience of tasting and brewing coffee using pour-over V60 method. The registration fee is BD7 per person.
A photowak highighting Manama’s most famous food and cafes, with professiona photographer Hassan A Nasheet, wi be hed from 4pm to 6pm.
Registration is priced at BD5 per person and the event is open to those aged 16 and above.
A Manama Bike Tour, organised in coaboration with Kashta Tours, wi begin at 5pm from Manama Post Office Museum, passing by Manamat A Gosaibi, A Fadhe Mosque and Bait Atawawish.
Participants wi then go to Manama Suq, where they wi take a break at Aoo Basheer, before returning to the museum, for a tota of 5kms.
A Taste Tour of oca food andmarks wi be hed from 9am to 11am for those aged 16 and above.

Manama ab is a mutidiscipinary design coaborative that expores soutions to shape human-centred experiences. By empoying various toos for different scaes of impact, the ab aims to weave ocaity and impactfu socia deveopment within neighbourhoods, re-enforcing co-existence and famiiarity as an aid against critica urban chaenges of the contemporary city.
