The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) will participate as a Platinum Sponsor of the Bahraini Banks Reception, organised by the Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB) alongside the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group.
The reception will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on October 15, bringing together government representatives, financial sector leaders, policymakers and investors from international markets.
The gathering will highlight the capabilities and continued development of Bahrain’s banking industry, while facilitating engagement between national institutions and members of the global financial community.
It will also enable the Bahraini delegation to exchange perspectives on emerging priorities, explore potential areas of co-operation, and establish connections that support future investment and market development.
Commenting on the occasion, NBB Group chief executive officer Usman Ahmed said, “The global financial landscape is witnessing significant change with shifting capital priorities, technological advancement, and new models of co-operation. Bahrain has a valuable perspective to contribute to these discussions with capable national institutions and extensive regional expertise. NBB’s sponsorship of the reception reflects its commitment to ensuring the kingdom’s active representation in conversations influencing the future of finance.”
BAB commended NBB and the other sponsors for supporting the reception and its role in advancing the association’s mandate. The initiative forms part of BAB’s efforts to reinforce Bahrain’s standing as a well-regulated, innovative and business-friendly financial hub, while contributing to the kingdom’s ambitions to enhance economic diversification and cross-border co-operation.
