The Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) organised the first dressage championship in the current season – the Al Fursan Dressage Qualifier Show – in the BDF Equestrian Arena at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, held under the patronage of Al Fursan team captain Shaikha Noora bint Hamad Al Khalifa.
The championship witnessed qualifiers in different levels, featuring wide participation and a good fan turnout.
In the Intro competition, first place went to Albane Lecat on Maahir scoring 51 points. Reema Aljahromi riding Capri Colour (49 points) finished second, while third place was taken by Yasmeen Alkhali on Ruby (48).
In the same category for seniors, Waleed Alansari took first place on Lamona More (54), followed by Shatha Al Qassim (52) on Catalina, and Salah Majeed on Madrid Vii (52) respectively.
In the preliminary competition for juniors, Aljahromi was first on Capri Colour with 49 points, followed by Tegan Harrison on Ruby (47).
In the same category for seniors, Carlijn Leeflang took first place riding Jairo (61), while Camille Lecat came second on Alfie Moon (60), and Abdullah Al Sakran third on Happy Call (59). The latter went on to win the Novice level, scoring 58 points riding Mandor. Leeflang on Jairo and Faisal Moosa on Osborne were second and third, respectively.
In the Intermediate category, Mohammed Alamiri was first on Puma, with Mohammed Saeed on Mananero Noble finishing second. Alamiri also bagged third place riding Osborne.
Meanwhile, Megan Black triumphed in the Medium category on Cajou, while Mohammed Almeabad came first in the advanced medium class on Mariscador.
Breef secretary Ghalib Al Alawi and Tawfiq Al Salehi, director of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office and Information Centre and head of the Public Relations, Media and Marketing Committee in Breef crowned the winners.
