The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information secured two awards at the conclusion of the 26th Arab Radio and Television Festival, organised by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) in Tunis.
The festival wrapped up Thursday evening at the Opera House in the City of Culture with an artistic performance, featuring a lineup of Arab artists, including Kuwaiti singer Abdullah Tariq, alongside performers from Palestine, Oman, Sudan, Egypt, and Algeria.
The ASBU competition committee announced that Kuwait Radio won second prize in the documentary programmes category for "Muntasaf al-Tariq" (Halfway), while Kuwait Television claimed second prize in the children and family programmes category for "Sirr al-Yawm" (Secret of the Day).
Held under the theme "Pulse of the Image, Echo of the Future", the four-day event included a media technology exhibition and programme market in Hammamet, professional seminars on AI, podcasting, and tourism media, and honoured several prominent Arab cultural figures, including Kuwaiti actor Mohammed Al-Mansour.
The festival's conclusion coincided with the 115th meeting of the ASBU Executive Council, chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which addressed expanding news and programme exchanges, adopting cloud technology, and fostering joint production among member states.
