Phil Bauhaus finished as the leading Team Bahrain Victorious rider yesterday in the third stage of this year’s Giro d’Italia.
The German ranked 14th overall in the 166km leg, which ended with a bunch sprint.
Italian teammate Antonio Tiberi followed in 29th overall, while countryman Damiano Caruso came 59th.
Andrea Pasqualon, also from Italy, was classified 114th and German Jasha Sutterlin came 122nd. Austrian Rainer Kepplinger in 141st and Torstein Træn in 172nd completed the squad’s roster.
Caruso remained in 16th place overall on the race’s general classification after three stages, followed by Tiberi in 26th. Tiberi also stayed in eighth place on the rankings for the Maglia Bianca or ‘white jersey’, which is worn by the best young rider.
The Giro d’Italia, which is the first Grand Tour cycling race on the 2024 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) World Tour calendar, continues today with a 190km fourth stage, starting from Acqui Terme and finishing in Andora.
