His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Bapco Energy chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa chaired the company’s board of directors meeting for the third quarter of 2024.
He affirmed that Bapco Energy is continuing to implement the visions of His Majesty to secure new sources of energy in the kingdom, praising the interest and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
During the meeting, the board reviewed the company’s strategy and plan for the coming years, which is based on unifying the efforts of Bapco Energy and its subsidiaries to develop the energy sector in Bahrain.
The board approved the work plan for the coming years, which included undertaking a number of renewable energy projects that fall within the National Energy Strategy, in addition to investing in modern energy technologies that contribute to diversifying sources of income and finding new sources of energy, while preserving the kingdom’s natural resources.
Bapco Energy group chief executive Mark Thomas presented detailed reports on the company’s overall performance and the latest developments in the group’s key projects.
The presentation included updates on the Bapco Refinery Modernisation Project (BMP), which is making significant progress and is nearing completion, in addition to the ongoing exploration and production activities carried out by Bapco Exploration and Production Company.
The board of directors also approved a unified compensation and benefits framework for all employees in the group and its subsidiaries, with the aim of enhancing integration and harmony between the various sectors and ensuring fairness in the distribution of rewards and benefits.
