DOCTORS of the Hereditary Blood Disorders Centre were honoured by the Bahrain Society for SCD Patients Care on the occasion of Bahraini Doctor’s Day.
The medical professionals have been treating sickle cell anaemia patients at the centre in Salmaniya Medical Complex under the slogan ‘You are our trust ... and the source of our strength’.
The society said that allocating a day to celebrate Bahraini doctors reflects the kingdom’s commitment to strengthening and developing the health sector.
It also recognises the vital role they play in maintaining the health of citizens and residents, and in supporting and achieving sustainable and comprehensive development goals.
Members of the society also sent their thanks to His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their unwavering support.
They also praised Supreme Council for Health president Lieutenant-General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Health Minister Dr Jalila Al Sayyed and Government Hospitals chief executive Dr Mariam Al Jalahma for their efforts.
