The continued success of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) over the past 14 years has established it as a key platform in the global aviation industry, Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has said.
He emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to advancing priority sectors that drive economic diversification as he inaugurated the prestigious airshow at Sakhir Airbase yesterday, on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad.
This is a key objective of the kingdom’s comprehensive development led by His Majesty, HRH Prince Salman stressed.
His Majesty and HRH Prince Salman exchanged congratulatory cables on the success of BIAS 2024.
They expressed pride in the achievement which reinforced Bahrain’s commitment to advancing its position in the global aviation sector.
They also praised the efforts of the BIAS Supreme Organising Committee, led by the King’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in organising the event.
During the ceremony, HRH the Deputy King acknowledged the relentless efforts of the national workforce in driving the kingdom’s broad achievements, noting that their dedication and excellence are deeply valued by all.
HRH Prince Salman recognised Bahrain’s status as a global hub for specialised exhibitions and conferences, highlighting the measures taken to ensure their continued success, as demonstrated by the significant international participation in the event.

HRH Prince Salman toured the exhibition, visiting the pavilions of participating countries and receiving briefings on the latest advancements in military and civil aviation technology.
He met the heads of delegations from participating aviation institutions, who praised Bahrain’s efforts and facilities that contributed to the success of the exhibition.
HRH Prince Salman visited the UAE’s national pavilion and also met the Saudi Hawks team. He commended the strong relations between Bahrain, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and highlighted the mutual commitment of both countries to the success of various events hosted by Bahrain through their participation.
HRH the Deputy King expressed his gratitude to the ministries and government agencies involved in organising the exhibition, noting that their efforts contribute to Bahrain’s accomplishments in hosting major international events.
Several senior officials and distinguished guests participating in the exhibition were also in attendance.
