His Majesty King Hamad yesterday visited the Royal Opera House in Muscat as part of his state visit to Oman
He was accompanied by members of the official delegation and Oman’s Interior Minister Humood bin Faisal Al Busaidi, who heads the Honour Mission.
The King was received by Royal Court Affairs secretary general Nasser bin Mahmood Al Kindi and Council of Ministers secretary general Sayyid Kamil bin Fahd Al Said.
His Majesty toured the Royal Opera House and explored its various facilities and sections.
He was briefed on the nature of performances hosted throughout the year and the state-of-the-art equipment utilised for world-class musical productions.
As part of the tour, he visited the main theatre and other sections of the Opera House and recognised its architectural sophistication, which combines Omani cultural heritage with architectural influences from across the globe.
The King also noted the Opera House’s role in the cultural sector, offering distinguished classical arts and music.
The visit included musical performances, further showcasing the venue’s artistic excellence.
In his written remarks in the visitors’ book, the King expressed great honour in visiting the Opera House, describing it as a magnificent cultural and artistic landmark.
He was presented with a commemorative gift to mark the visit.
