The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and the whole Holy Land Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa has praised Bahrain’s dedication to preserving its history and promoting dialogue among people of different backgrounds.
During a recent visit to Bahrain, he was received by the Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia Bishop Aldo Berardi along with the local clergy, including priests and representatives from the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance.

Cardinal Pizzaballa visited the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manama, one of the oldest and most significant churches in the region, and toured the museum dedicated to the Apostolic Visit of Pope Francis to Bahrain.
He also celebrated the solemn mass at the Our Lady of Arabia Cathedral in Awali, where he emphasised the importance of coexistence, tolerance, peace, mutual respect and understanding in today’s increasingly complex world.

Cardinal Pizzaballa visited the National Museum, where he explored the kingdom’s rich cultural history and learned about its diverse people.
He also participated in a conference held at the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance in the presence of its executive director Abdulla Al Mannai.
The cardinal’s visit was part of his broader mission to engage with Catholic communities across the region.
