On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad, Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust board of trustees chairman and Labour Fund (Tamkeen) board of directors chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV (formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost), at St Peter’s Square, Vatican City.
He extended the congratulations of the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to Pope Leo on his inauguration. He also conveyed their best wishes for the pope’s success in continuing the Vatican’s humanitarian mission to promote coexistence and co-operation for the betterment of all.
Shaikh Isa affirmed the strength of the longstanding ties between Bahrain and the Vatican across various fields, as well as their joint efforts to promote the values of coexistence, compassion, and peace.
He highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to further enhancing its co-operation with the Vatican to support humanitarian causes and promote shared values.
He also reiterated the kingdom’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty, to fostering understanding between cultures and religions. In this regard, Shaikh Isa emphasised Bahrain’s continued support for global initiatives that advocate peace and mutual understanding.
He stated that these efforts reflect the vision of the King and the steps taken by the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to position the kingdom as a global forum for dialogue.
