Eight people were killed and two others were injured in a devastating road accident in Wilayat Al Duqm, located in Oman’s Al Wusta Governorate.
The collision occurred on Wednesday evening when a Land Cruiser crashed into a truck, resulting in severe damage to both vehicles.
Oman’s Health Ministry confirmed the casualties and said emergency medical teams responded swiftly to the scene.
The Land Cruiser collided with a large fishing container truck on the road, leaving eight Bangladeshi workers dead and the driver critically injured, according to a Times of Oman report. The injured driver was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, the report added.
An official from the Bangladesh Embassy in Muscat has reached the accident site to provide necessary assistance.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. The incident has caused widespread grief across the community and renewed calls for greater road safety awareness in the region.
