A gathering was held last night to welcome Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) in Segaiya.
The Pravasi Malayalee Samgamam was organised by BKS in co-operation with Loka Kerala Sabha (LKS), and Malayalam Mission, and brought together the Malayali diaspora in Bahrain for an evening celebrating cultural unity, shared heritage, and developmental dialogue.
It was attended by hundreds of people including Indian Ambassador Vinod Jacob, Kerala Fisheries and Culture Minister Saji Cherian, LuLu Group chairman and managing director Yusuff Ali MA, and Kerala chief secretary Dr A Jayathilak.
Other notable attendees included BKS president PV Radhakrishna Pillai, general secretary Varghese Karakkal, general convenor P Sreejith, and LKS member Subair Kannur.
Mr Vijayan is on a tour of the GCC, starting with Bahrain, as part of attempts to engage with the region’s Malayali community.
