Residents of Bahrain are being invited to take part in Al Khobar Season 2025, a major cultural and entertainment festival taking place in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
The event will run from Thursday to January 22, 2026, offering three months of concerts, family-friendly activities, food festivals and cultural programmes.
The invitation follows a promotional roadshow held at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, where Saudi tourism officials highlighted the ease of travel between Bahrain and Al Khobar. With the King Fahad Causeway providing direct road access, the journey takes just 49 minutes, making it ideal for weekend visits and short getaways, organisers said.
Organised under the banner of ‘Discover Saudi’, Al Khobar Season aims to attract visitors from across the region by showcasing the city’s coastal beauty, modern attractions and family-oriented atmosphere.
The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism strategy to promote domestic and regional travel.
“Al Khobar Season 2025 is an invitation to enjoy the spirit of the coast,” the organisers added. “We welcome visitors from Bahrain to explore the unique experiences the city has to offer during this festive season.”
Key venues during the season will include:
l Al Khobar Corniche, known for its scenic waterfront and open-air concerts
l Half Moon Bay, offering beach activities and seaside events
l SciTech Centre, hosting interactive learning experiences and exhibitions suitable for all ages
The festival will feature live performances by regional artists, traditional and international cuisine, children’s workshops and cultural showcases that reflect the heritage of the Eastern Province.
In addition to entertainment, the event promotes cultural exchange and community engagement through the King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture (Ithra). Organisers have emphasised that all venues will be family-friendly and designed with safety and accessibility in mind.
A spokesperson for the event noted: “This is a season that reflects the warmth and hospitality of Al Khobar. It’s a time to slow down, enjoy the city’s atmosphere and participate in a variety of cultural and recreational activities.”
The initiative supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals by enhancing the local tourism sector and building stronger connections with neighbouring countries, particularly Bahrain.
Those interested in attending Al Khobar Season 2025 can follow updates and announcements through official tourism channels or visit the Discover Saudi website for further information on schedules, venues, visa information and recommended accommodation.
According to Saudi Arabian visa rules, visas can be obtained electronically or on arrival for GCC expat residents with valid residency of no less than three months.
