His Majesty King Hamad has underscored Bahrain’s commitment to consolidating longstanding relations with Malaysia and expanding co-operation to benefit both countries and their people.
His Majesty made the remarks during a meeting with Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, who is on a state visit to Bahrain.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as senior members of the Royal Family and the delegations of both countries, attended.
His Majesty welcomed King Sultan Ibrahim to Bahrain, noting that the visit reflects the strong ties between the two nations and their shared commitment to strengthening co-operation in ways that serve mutual interests. King Sultan Ibrahim expressed appreciation to His Majesty for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.
Their Majesties reviewed the progress of the close strategic relations between Bahrain and Malaysia and discussed opportunities to expand co-operation across various sectors to support development and prosperity. They also addressed regional and international issues of common interest.
His Majesty and the Malaysian monarch emphasised their commitment to further advancing co-operation, highlighting the potential for building productive partnerships in key sectors that meet shared aspirations.
He commended Malaysia’s record of success in economic, industrial and development domains, which has reinforced its standing as a distinguished nation in Asia and globally, and wished the Malaysian people continued progress and prosperity.
The leaders also highlighted their countries’ support for all efforts aimed at promoting regional and international peace, security and stability.
King Sultan Ibrahim commended His Majesty’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and expressed his hope for further growth and co-operation between Bahrain and Malaysia.
Earlier, His Majesty received King Sultan Ibrahim and his accompanying delegation upon their arrival in Bahrain.
Also present were HRH Prince Salman; His Majesty’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa; King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; Royal Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa; and a number of senior officials.
King Sultan Ibrahim was accompanied by an official delegation that included several of his sons and senior officials.
