ISLAMIC SOLIDARITY GAMES – SUPREME Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended last night the opening ceremony of the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, which are being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The grand inauguration took place at Al Janadriyah Racecourse in the Saudi capital, and it featured the 57 national delegations participating in the multi-sport event from around the world. Bahrain’s senior men’s volleyball national team captain Naser Anan and table tennis national team player Dana Al Khayyat had the honour of carrying the kingdom’s flag and leading Bahrain’s delegation members in last night’s parade of nations. Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee president and Saudi’s Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal Al Saud was on hand at the opening, as were BOC vice-president Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and BOC secretary general Faris Al Kooheji.
