Juffair’s vibrant scene has a brand-new addition blending contemporary elegance with warm hospitality, elevated cuisine and unbeatable energy.
Run by Remya Management, the London Lounge opened recently at Al Manzil Hotel in Juffair, and is set to become one of Bahrain’s top nightlife spots where live sports, signature cocktails and electrifying entertainment have found a new home.
“We wanted to create a new experience for the expatriates and locals in Juffair,” the company’s chief executive officer Madan Perratur told the GDN at the opening.
“One of our core highlights is the cuisine, which is based on what one might find in London, so that includes modern Indian, Arabic and of course English cuisine.”
The lounge’s opening took place in the presence of the hotel’s owners Dr Faisal Khalid Kanoo and Khalid Faisal Kanoo, as well as Captain Waleed Alalawi and Khalid Alalawi, alongside Mr Perattur and Remya Management director Remya Madan.
With large screens dotted throughout the venue showing the latest live sports events, the London Lounge feels like a blend of a sports bar and a lounge, sauntering between the vibes throughout the evening.
As the stars come out, the lounge transforms into a vibrant dance venue, with live musical performers, perfectly crafted cocktails and mocktails, as well as themed nights.
“We will be having tribute acts as well as incredible DJs, to make sure everyone has a truly special evening,” Mr Perratur added.
“This venue is quite unlike our other ventures, and we wanted to curate a space that is both laid-back and lively.”
While many nightlife venues leave food as an afterthought, the London Lounge has made it a core focus of the experience.
The menu brings the usual pub fare like chicken wings, grilled and fried calamari, and spring rolls, but turns it up a notch, with Arab-influenced items like grilled beef skewers served atop a bed of mahamara and nachos paired with a creamy beetroot hummus and fresh guacamole.
A key highlight on the menu is the London Eye Combo, with five selected appetisers served in an eye-catching spinning wheel, reminiscent of the popular tourist attraction in the UK.
Those who are looking for a full meal won’t be disappointed either. Juicy Angus beef burgers, chicken Cuban sandwiches and English favourites like fish and chips as well as shepherd’s pie are sure to keep even the pickiest eaters well-satisfied.
On the entertainment front, Alejandra Del Pino, well-known in the local circuit for her versatile voice, will be lighting up the stage every Saturday, as well as during London Lounge’s weekly ‘Velvet Wednesdays for the Ladies’.
The venue has also already begun gearing up for the holidays, with a special Christmas Eve party planned for December 24. Attendees will also have an opportunity to enter the ‘London Idol’ where they can win prizes of up to £200 (BD100).
The London Lounge is open from 5pm to 2.30am.
