His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that Bahraini youth embody the story of a nation renewed with hope, which is moving forward through the vision and ambition of its youth, noting that the future is being built today through their efforts, ideas and belief in their ability to make a positive impact.
Shaikh Nasser explained that His Majesty’s support of the youth reflects a firm belief in their pivotal role and confidence in their ability to shape a brighter future for the kingdom.
Shaikh Nasser also noted that the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to open up broader horizons for young people and enhances their role as active partners in the development process, within a supportive environment that nurtures their ambitions and empowers them.
This came during his meeting, attended by SCYS Secretary-General Ayman Almoayyad and Youth Affairs Minister Rawan Tawfiqi with more than 400 young men and women from youth leadership groups, via video conference, on the occasion of Bahraini Youth Day, which falls on March 25, under the slogan ‘Unity Grows A Nation Rises’.
Shaikh Nasser conveyed the greetings of His Majesty to the youth of Bahrain, along with the King’s appreciation for their role in advancing, prospering and protecting their country.
Shaikh Nasser said: “In this situation, we do not view the kingdom’s youth merely as young people; rather, we see you as a force and a shield, and the hope of an entire nation. In times of peace, everyone speaks of ambition, but in times of challenge, it becomes clear who carries the nation through their actions. We are all living through a moment of choice and trial, in which we test the true character of the Bahraini people.”
He added: “In these circumstances, we must uphold the name of Bahrain as it should be upheld, and in the current times, we are judged by our actions towards Bahrain. Today is your day, and strength lies in steadfastness and unity.”
He continued: “We are not the first generation to face challenges; Bahrain has faced great challenges, and everyone who coveted Bahrain has failed. But this generation is being tested at this very moment. We do not need a louder voice, but a stronger stance; we do not need more words, but heroes who, when they speak, are believed.”
He said: “Bahrain is in good hands, for in times of difficulty it relies on young people who stand firm in their commitment to protecting the kingdom. Seeing you lifts my spirits; we take pride in the stances, solidarity, generosity and volunteering of our youth. The history of young people is written in gold, and achievement is their hallmark.”
The youth expressed pride in this meeting, which reflects the leadership’s commitment to listen to them. They affirmed their dedicationto continue serving the nation, and to strengthen its unity and progress, with a firm belief in their national responsibility and aspiration towards a better future for Bahrain.
