The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) has announced an update to the remote work policy, allowing office attendance of up to 50 per cent of staff across all government entities, effective from Sunday, until further notice. Sectors that require staff presence due to the nature of their work are exempted.
The CSB emphasised the need for government entities to co-ordinate with it to determine the appropriate attendance levels for each entity or the need to return to the workplace based on task requirements, ensuring continuity of work. Each entity will identify the positions and employees covered by this limit.
To enhance readiness for emergencies, the CSB guidelines underline compliance with instructions from relevant authorities regarding alert systems, safety measures, preventive actions within workplaces, and evacuation plans, in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Civil Defence, to ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
