Bahrain’s Ambassador to Italy Osama Al Absi yesterday met Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto at the ministry headquarters in Rome.
Ambassador Al Absi commended the ties between Bahrain and Italy and its development in all domains, emphasising the importance of building on current achievements to further mutual strategic interests.
He also commended Italy’s proactive role, alongside international allies, in maintaining regional and international peace.
He expressed the kingdom’s appreciation for Italy’s solidarity and support for Bahrain’s national security.
Addressing regional stability, he reaffirmed Bahrain’s firm stance, calling for Iran’s full commitment to an immediate cessation of all hostilities and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
He emphasised the critical need for compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemned recent attacks targeting civilians, residential areas, and energy infrastructure across Bahrain, the GCC, and Jordan.
