HIS Majesty King Hamad, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper II, the Commander of the US Central Command, and an accompanying delegation.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, and Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Adviser, Royal Guard Commander and Supreme Defence Council Secretary-General, were present.
His Majesty welcomed the Commander of the US Central Command and commended the historical strategic ties between the two countries, which have spanned decades and are based on trust, mutual respect, and joint co-operation as friends and allies. The King noted the continued development of bilateral co-operation in defence and military domains and in areas that achieve all objectives and aspirations.
The meeting reviewed regional and international developments, in addition to matters of mutual interest.
His Majesty commended the key and active role played by the US alongside allied countries in strengthening regional and global security and stability.
HRH Prince Salman also held talks with the Commander of the US Central Command. He highlighted the longstanding Bahrain-US relationship, underpinned by a strategic partnership spanning a number of important sectors, which played a vital role in combating the hostile Iranian aggression.
HRH Prince Salman emphasised the mutual commitment to advancing multisectoral collaboration, particularly within the military and defence sectors, as well as building on existing co-operation and agreements, including the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (CSIPA).
