An agreement has been reached with an educational institution to ensure the continued employment of national workers and enhance their job stability, the Labour Ministry announced today.
The ministry explained that, regarding the private educational institution’s intention to terminate the services of a number of workers, it has initiated communication with the management to take necessary measures.
“A series of meetings had been held with the concerned institution, the latest of which took place on Tuesday (today), resulting in a preliminary agreement aimed at preserving the stability of the national workforce,” the ministry said in a statement.
“This will be achieved through proposing a set of solutions and remedial measures to be implemented by the institution’s management.
“In the coming days, details related to the agreement will be finalised, ensuring the continued employment of national workers within the institution and enhancing their job stability.”
The ministry affirmed it will continue to follow-up on all matters related to the conditions of national workers in the private sector.
It highlighted its commitment to taking necessary measures and providing solutions to ensure stability and safeguarding their rights.
This comes shortly after the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions issued a statement explaining that a meeting was held with a number of female teachers who were notified that June 30 would be their final day.
The union said that the termination affected 22 Bahraini female employees, three Arab employees and four foreign employees in administrative and teaching roles.
The statement claimed that complainants reportedly affirmed that they had not received any prior warnings or performance-related remarks and expressed concern about the impact of the decision on their livelihoods.
