BADMINTON – JISHAM Mohammed and Paulson Lonappan emerged as the premier doubles champions of The Indian Club’s fifth Members’ Badminton Tournament, held at the club premises with enthusiastic participation from a large group of players.
Mohammed and Lonappan claimed first place ahead of runners-up Arun Jose and Mathew Cheriyan.
The competition featured four other categories.
Anoop N Kutty and Ameer Mohammed were the winners of the level one doubles division while Mohan Gowda and Rajan KP were second-placers.
Aakash Sakthievl and Anwin Peter were triumphant in the level two doubles competition, with Manoj R Jayan and Jacob Thomas as the runners-up.
Joy Winston and Godwin Antony came first in the level three doubles class ahead of Aji Soman and Joseph Thampi.
Taking the level four doubles title were Thaha Mohammed and Manesh Prasad, while George K George and Jerauld Grace Haris placed second.
Following play, a prize distribution ceremony was held at the venue, during which trophies were awarded to the winners and runners-up in recognition of their excellent performances and sporting spirit.
The Indian Club president Joseph Joy delivered a welcome address and presided over the presentation. Executive committee officials and senior club members also attended.
