BOWLING – The stage is set for the first-ever Bahrain Bowling Federation (BBF) Super Cup, taking place today between Riffa and Um Al Hassam.
The contest, to be played at Funland Centre, is being launched as part of the BBF’s vision to develop the local game and enhance the level of competitiveness amongst its member clubs.
Just as in various other sports in the kingdom, the BBF Super Cup will mark the start of the new national season.
Riffa are playing in the event as champions from last season’s Bahrain Bowling League, while Um Al Hassam are competing as runners-up from the BBF Cup.
According to the approved format, the BBF Super Cup will be held as a single match, where each team will consist of squads of four.
Action will take place across three games, with the title being decided on total pinfalls.
BBF competitions committee head Khaled Al Najjar confirmed that launching the BBF Super Cup represents a qualitative step in the development of Bahrain’s bowling tournaments.
He noted that the BBF is keen to create various competitive events for its clubs, and enhance the value of these throughout the season.
Al Najjar added that he expects the first edition to witness a distinguished level that reflects the development of Bahraini bowling.
