Health Ministry Under-Secretary Dr Lulwa Showaiter chaired the 10th preparatory meeting of undersecretaries of ministries concerned with food safety in the GCC countries, held via videoconference.
Dr Showaiter highlighted the importance of continued co-ordination and co-operation among member states to strengthen food safety and protect public health amid recent Iranian attacks targeting the region.
She expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for Kuwait’s efforts during its previous presidency, noting the progress achieved in supporting joint GCC work in food safety. She underlined Bahrain’s commitment, as chair of the current session of the ministerial committee concerned with food safety, to build on these achievements.
