The Education Ministry has referred the administration of a private school to investigation for including an English-language book in its curriculum containing material deemed in violation of the provisions of the Education Law, the Private Educational Institutions Law, their executive regulations, as well as the religious and national values.
The ministry also instructed the school to stop using the referenced curriculum and replace it with one of the ministry-approved curricula.
It stated that although the school had not actually taught the specific content identified in the textbook, the mere adoption and distribution of the curriculum without adhering to the ministry’s clear instructions – requiring verification of the validity of the material – constitutes a clear violation necessitating appropriate action.
