VOLLEYBALL – AL Ahli completed the quarter-final line-up last night in the 2025-26 His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup.
Ahli secured their place in the prestigious volleyball tournament’s elite eight with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-20) sweep of Al Shabab at the Isa Bin Rashid Volleyball Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Ahli move on to face Al Najma in the next stage. Najma also booked their berth yesterday following their own 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-17) triumph over Al Dair, played at the same venue.
Their head-to-head is scheduled to be held on Sunday at 8.30pm.
The His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup is a knockout competition that features all 14 teams that are under the umbrella of the Bahrain Volleyball Association (BVA). Recently crowned champions of the 2025-26 Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League Dar Kulaib and holders Muharraq have automatic berths in the round of eight.
Dar Kulaib will be in action against A’ali, who were 3-1 (25-14, 25-22, 23-25, 25-16) winners against Etehad Al Reef in the preliminary round. Their contest is set for tomorrow at 7pm. It will be followed at 8.30pm by Bani Jamra going up against Nabih Saleh.
Muharraq, on the other hand, are also in action on Sunday at 7pm, when they face Al Tadhamun, who beat Busaiteen 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-18).
The semis are then scheduled for Wednesday next week, with the final on Saturday.
In the last four, the winners of Dar Kulaib-A’ali will take on the victors of Bani Jamra-Nabih Saleh, while the winners of Muharraq-Tadhamun will face the victors of Ahli-Najma.
Muharraq claimed last season’s His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup following a hard-earned victory in four sets against Dar Kulaib. Their triumph completed a sensational double for the club, after having also captured the title in the 2024-25 Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.
