Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine and US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth were asked about reports of 'kamikaze dolphins' being used by Iran to attack ships on the Strait of Hormuz.
The secretary answered: "I can neither confirm nor deny if we have kamikaze dolphins, but I can confirm that they (Iran) don't."
The claim of 'kamikaze dolphins' originated from a Wall Street Journal article alleging that Iranian officials could use "mine-carrying dolphins to attack American warships.
Interestingly, the US Navy has previously trained dolphins for military purposes for almost half a century, although to detect mines and not to detonate them.
