Standard Chartered has been honoured as ‘Islamic Bank of the Year’ and awarded ‘Most Innovative Sukuk’ by The Banker, in recognition of its robust Islamic banking platform and its ability to deliver Sharia-compliant solutions across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
The accolades highlight the bank’s comprehensive role in Islamic finance, serving a diverse client base ranging from affluent individuals to corporate and institutional entities.

Khurram Hilal, chief executive officer of Islamic Banking at Standard Chartered, noted that the sector is shifting towards a globalised model.
“Islamic finance is evolving beyond single-market access,” he said.
“Affluent clients are increasingly investing globally, while corporates and institutions are raising capital through more diversified sources of liquidity.”

The awards arrive as Islamic finance continues to cement its position as one of the fastest-growing segments in global finance, with total assets projected to grow by 36 per cent to reach $7.5 trillion by 2028.
