Bahrain has strongly condemned the attacks launched by Iran against the UAE using ballistic missiles and drones, which resulted in a number of injuries.
The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, described the attacks as a flagrant violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the principles of good neighbourliness, denouncing Iran’s continued hostile actions and threats against the UAE.
It called on Iran to respect the sovereignty of countries in the region, refrain from interfering in their internal affairs, and cease threats to maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2817.
The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s unwavering solidarity with the UAE in confronting any Iranian aggression, underscoring the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties binding the two nations, as well as the longstanding agreements and commitments shared between them.
It also highlighted the Joint Defence Agreement of the GCC, which stipulates that an attack on any member state is considered an attack on all GCC member states.
The ministry further stressed Bahrain’s full support for the UAE’s legitimate efforts to safeguard its sovereignty, preserve its security and stability, protect its national interests, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
