His Majesty King Hamad has affirmed that Bahrain is a nation for all, reassuring citizens and residents of the kingdom’s stability and strength. He also praised the powerful display of national unity across all regions and communities.
His Majesty made the remarks as he received Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam, Shura Council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh and members of the committee responding to the Royal address in both councils. They submitted the councils’ response to the address delivered by the King at the opening of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term.
The King expressed appreciation to the Speaker and Chairman and both council members for their efforts in serving the nation and citizens. He praised the achievements of the legislative authority and its continued support for Bahrain’s development across all domains. He commended the initiatives and proposals included in the councils’ response, which aim to strengthen national progress.
His Majesty highlighted the steadfast national positions of the legislative authority, its commitment to maintaining Bahrain’s security, stability, and sovereignty, and its condemnation of the recent Iranian attacks on the kingdom’s territory.
“Bahrain is a nation for all”, the King said, reassuring citizens about the overall situation in the kingdom.
He also expressed appreciation for the strong national unity and loyalty shown by citizens and wished the country and its people continued security, stability and peace.
Mr Al Saleh and Mr Al Musallam condemned the terrorist plot linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and expressed full support for the Interior Ministry’s measures to counter threats to the kingdom’s security. They underscored their full backing of these efforts and called on all members of Bahraini society to unite behind the leadership of His Majesty.
The council said that the vigilance and efficiency of security agencies remain key to national sovereignty and unity.
Mr Al Saleh and Mr Al Musallam strongly condemned the Iranian attacks on Bahrain, other GCC states, and Jordan, describing them as a violation of sovereignty and a threat to regional and international peace. They commended the Bahrain Defence Force and security agencies for their outstanding efforts in countering the attacks and foiling hostile plans.
The council also commended the forward-looking vision outlined in the Royal Address, which emphasises a high-level scientific and economic future for the kingdom through stronger support for research, innovation and sustainable growth.
The council has placed the creation of a modern legislative framework for a knowledge-based economy at the top of its priorities, aimed at boosting competitiveness, supporting non-oil sectors, attracting digital technologies, localising innovation and strengthening scientific research. This will be driven by laws promoting investment in emerging fields such as renewable energy, artificial intelligence, space technology, cybersecurity and digital transformation.
The council affirmed its support for the Royal vision of aligning economic growth with social development to ensure inclusive participation in sustainable projects and strengthen the social protection system. It also backed the King’s firm stance on Arab causes, including Bahrain’s commitment to the Palestinian cause under the Arab Peace Initiative.
