The Head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution stated that the High Criminal Court issued rulings during its session today in four separate cases involving crimes of violence and sabotage carried out during the criminal Iranian aggression against the Kingdom of Bahrain in March. The court sentenced the defendants to prison terms of up to five years, imposed fines of BD500 on some of them, and ordered the confiscation of the seized items.
The cases date back to four reports received by the Public Prosecution from the relevant security directorates at the Ministry of Interior, stating that the defendants were apprehended while committing the offence after participating in acts of violence and sabotage that coincided with the Iranian aggression against the Kingdom of Bahrain, and were subsequently referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Public Prosecution conducted its investigations by questioning the defendants in detail, ensuring all legal safeguards and guarantees of investigation were upheld. They were remanded in custody pending investigation, witnesses were heard, and technical reports were requested. In light of the testimonial and technical evidence, the defendants were referred to the High Criminal Court, which examined the cases over several sessions and issued the aforementioned ruling.
The Public Prosecution affirmed that it will continue to take firm legal measures against anyone who undermines public security or endangers the safety of society through participation in acts of sabotage, and that it will firmly confront all forms of violence and disorder, while ensuring that all legally prescribed safeguards and guarantees are observed.
