Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states accredited in Tokyo, chaired by Ahmed Mohammed Al Doseri, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Japan, met MP Takayuki Kobayashi, Chairperson of the Policy Research Council of Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), along with senior party officials, at the LDP headquarters.
The meeting reviewed Japan-GCC relations and discussed current regional developments.
Ambassador Al Doseri highlighted the strength of Gulf-Japan ties and referred to recent Iranian attacks targeting residential areas and civilian and vital facilities in GCC countries.
He also stressed the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation in international waterways, noting the global impact of Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The meeting concluded with a shared emphasis on regional security and stability and the continued strengthening of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
