His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, National Security Adviser, Royal Guard Commander and Supreme Defence Council Secretary General Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa participated in the inauguration of the Alliance for Europe-Gulf Geopolitics and Investments Summit (AEGGIS) held in Greece at the official invitation of the Atlantic Council in collaboration with Antenna Group, with the participation of leaders, decision-makers, political and economic figures, and investors from the GCC and Europe.
Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, and Strategic Security Bureau Chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa were present.
On the occasion, Shaikh Nasser affirmed that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty and with the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to consolidate its position as an influential strategic partner in supporting regional security and stability and strengthening international co-operation based on shared interests and comprehensive and sustainable development visions.
He explained that the geopolitical and economic transformations witnessed by the world today necessitate building more integrated and influential alliances, based on strategic integration and unifying visions between GCC states and Europe, which creates quality opportunities for investment, development and shared security.
Shaikh Nasser noted that the summit is an important international platform for enhancing strategic dialogue between Europe and GCC states, particularly amid rapid global changes and the need for greater co-ordination on security, energy, investment, technology and the digital economy.
The summit featured high-level sessions discussing the future of Gulf-European relations and the importance of building new frameworks for geopolitical and investment cooperation, alongside a review of opportunities for economic integration and joint initiatives in vital sectors.
Co-chaired by Theodore Kyriakou and Frederick Kempe, AEGGIS brought together heads of state and the most influential political and business leaders from Europe and the Gulf, to tackle global challenges, foster private sector collaboration, and deliver actionable policy solutions across key sectors of the economy.
