A civil servant was sentenced to five years in prison by the High Criminal Court for taking advantage of the information he had access to at his workplace, for personal gain.
According to the Public Prosecution, the defendant exploited privileges from his job to acquire secret data, and used it outside of the scope of his work.
The inspection of the defendant’s phone revealed the sources of the information, and the ways he was able to benefit from it.
Prosecutors communicated with his employer, and following an investigation, the prosecution found that the accusations were credible, and referred the case to criminal trial.
