Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, met with James Kennedy, Regional People Director at Alshaya Group.
The minister underscored the importance of further strengthening partnerships with private sector institutions that support the employment and professional development of national talent, contributing to the creation of quality opportunities for Bahraini citizens, sustaining labour market growth, and supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ongoing development plans.
He commended Alshaya Group’s commitment to developing young Bahraini talent and its efforts to provide a supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and career progression, reflecting the private sector’s role as a key partner in advancing economic development and generating promising opportunities for citizens.
The minister was briefed on the group’s programmes and plans related to the employment of Bahraini nationals across its branches in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to initiatives aimed at supporting the professional development and career advancement of national talent in the retail sector, one of the vital sectors offering promising growth opportunities.
The meeting also reviewed the incentives and facilities provided by the government to support the employment of Bahraini citizens and enhance their competitiveness in the labour market. A number of success stories highlighting the professional growth and career progression of young Bahraini employees within the group, including their advancement to leadership positions, were also presented.
