The National Taskforce for Combating Communicable Diseases held a virtual meeting to review global health developments and national preparedness measures.
Supreme Council for Health (SCH) chairman Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa was present.
Health Minister Dr Jalila Al Sayyed stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of preventive readiness and strengthening co-ordination among relevant authorities to protect public health.
She highlighted precautionary steps taken by Civil Aviation Affairs to temporarily suspend the entry of non-Bahraini travellers arriving from South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, following recent World Health Organisation updates on the Ebola outbreak in those countries.
The meeting also reviewed Bahrain’s precautionary and response plans for emerging health developments, with officials affirming the continuation of preventive measures under the kingdom’s approved national health protocols.
