FOOTBALL – MATCHDAY two of the relegation/promotion play-offs for two spots on the 2026-27 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League takes place tonight.
Al Najma and Manama both took one step closer last week towards securing their places in the top flight next season and will be looking to ensure their berths with wins this evening.
Najma defeated Al Ettihad 2-1 while Manama edged past Budaiya 1-0 in their opening fixtures of this mini competition. Najma and Budaiya are looking to retain their places in the premiership, while Manama and Ettihad are hoping to gain promotion from the Bahrain First Division.
Tonight, Najma will go up against Budaiya in a clash between the two premier league clubs last season. It will be played at the National Stadium in Riffa. Manama, on the other hand, will be facing off with Ettihad at Al Ahli Club Stadium in Mahooz. Both contests are scheduled for simultaneous 7pm kick-offs.
Following this evening’s fixtures, the final matchday of the play-offs will be on Saturday, when Najma and Manama clash at the National Stadium and Budaiya take on Ettihad at Ahli.
Budaiya and Najma are competing in the relegation/promotion play-offs after finishing in ninth and 10th places, respectively, to end the 2025-26 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
