A paraglider was struck by a small propeller plane mid-air over Austria on Saturday and managed to live to tell the tale.
The 44-year-old paraglider was flying above Zell am See in Austria’s Pinzgau region when a Cessna 172 aircraft approached from behind and collided with her canopy.

The paraglider was able to pull her rescue parachute and land safely shortly after the incident on Saturday.

Video recorded by the paraglider shows the Cessna passing just overhead before the canopy is shredded and starts to spin uncontrollably.
The woman managed to deploy her emergency reserve parachute and landed on a forest road. She suffered bruises and contusions but avoided serious injury, according to local reports.
The Cessna pilot, a 28-year-old man from Tyrol, landed the aircraft safely at Zell am See Airport after the collision.
The pilot reportedly told police that he had been unable to avoid the paraglider before the crash.
