HANDBALL – DEFENDING champions Al Najma take on Barbar in game one of their best-of-three Golden Square semi-final series tonight in the 2025-26 Khalid bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League.
The contest is scheduled for a 5.30pm throw-off and it will be played at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town.
Najma’s clash with Barbar will be followed by game one of the other Golden Square match-up between Al Shabab and Al Ahli, slated for a 7.30pm start at the same venue.
Following this evening’s matches, game two in each series will be held on Thursday, while game three, if necessary, will take place on Saturday for both.
Najma secured their place in the last four as top seeds after finishing the league’s regular season with 56 points from 17 wins, two draws, and one loss after 20 games.
Barbar were the fourth seeds after completing their campaign with 46 points from 13 victories and seven defeats.
The Shabab-Ahli affair is between the second and third-ranked clubs, respectively.
Shabab finished just a single point behind Najma after matching their 17-win total but also registering one stalemate and two losses, while Ahli were a further point behind, also with 17 wins but with three defeats.
