MMA – BAHRAIN’S mixed martial arts (MMA) rising star and former IMMAF world champion Kurban Idrisov continued his rapid ascent in the professional ranks, preserving his flawless record with another commanding performance at BRAVE CF 105 held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Competing on the supporting card at Baluan Sholak Sports Palace, the Bahraini phenom squared off against experienced Kazakh veteran Rustem Kudaybergenov in a 74kg catchweight encounter.
Representing Team KHK, Idrisov showcased the elite grappling pedigree that has quickly made him one of the kingdom’s most promising athletes, securing a unanimous decision victory after three rounds of sustained control.
From the opening bell, Idrisov imposed his will through relentless wrestling, repeatedly dictating where the contest took place and neutralising Kudaybergenov’s offense with suffocating top pressure.
His calculated approach and technical superiority allowed him to control the pace throughout the bout, earning the judges’ verdict and extending his perfect professional record to 9-0.
The triumph marked Idrisov’s second consecutive victory under the BRAVE Combat Federation banner.
Earlier this year, he made an emphatic promotional debut by stopping Artem Buloychik via first-round technical knockout in February.
With back-to-back wins in the world’s fastest-growing and most international MMA organisation, the undefeated prospect continues to strengthen his case as one of the sport’s brightest emerging talents.
A decorated amateur before entering the professional ranks, Idrisov proudly represented Bahrain on the international stage and captured gold at the 2021 IMMAF World Championships.
Now carrying that success into his professional career, 2026 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year.
BRAVE CF 105 also marked another successful chapter for the Bahrain-based promotion, which partnered with Alash Pride League for its fourth event in Kazakhstan.
In the evening’s main event, Nicholas ‘The Saint’ Hwende captured the vacant undisputed BRAVE CF featherweight world championship with a dramatic fifth-round submission victory over interim champion Omar ‘Scorpion’ Solomanov.
Despite facing adversity early against Solomanov’s high-level grappling, the former BRAVE CF bantamweight world champion steadily turned the tide before securing a fight-ending D’arce choke in the final round.
The historic victory made Hwende just the second athlete in BRAVE CF history to achieve two-division world champion status.
In the co-feature attraction of the evening, Asyljan Tasket gained redemption by knocking out Russian rival Alexey ‘Suhist’ Meshkov in their rematch for the Alash Pride Featherweight Championship.
The Kazakh bruiser dictated the pace from the outset, leaning on heavy slams and dominant top control to steadily break down Meshkov. After controlling large stretches of the bout, Tasket closed the show in the fourth round, switching stances before landing a looping left hand that shut the lights out on Meshkov.
Kazakh heavyweight Rassul Khatayev passed a stern test against Russian powerhouse Vladimir Petrenko in a hard-fought, three-round match-up. Khatayev established his advantage early with sharp offense and effective pressure, but Petrenko responded strongly in the second round, forcing a competitive battle. In the final frame, Khatayev banked on his clinch work to seal a unanimous decision victory.
Top-ranked flyweight contender Dias ‘Son of the Steppes’ Yerengaipov overcame a determined opposition from short-notice opponent Ryskulbek ‘Kyrgyzstani Kraken’ Ibraimov in their 63.5kg catchweight tiff, winning by a unanimous decision.
Number one-ranked featherweight contender Rauan ‘Shymyr’ Bekbolat emphatically returned to his winning ways, submitting Uzbekistan’s Sardor ‘Tiger’ Khudoyberdiev in the opening round for his fourth career submission victory.
Kazakhstan’s Zhanibek ‘Wild’ Tynyshtyk delivered a dominant performance against Kyrgyzstan’s Asylbek Rustambek Uulu in their 63kg catchweight duel, fastening a guillotine choke that forced Rustambek Uulu to yield.
Kazakhstan’s Abdurakhman ‘Saqai’ Umirzakov handed Uzbek prospect Asadbek ‘Golden Boy’ Ravshanov a tough setback in their middleweight encounter, delivering a second-round technical knockout victory.
Kazakh light heavyweight Murad ‘Warrior’ Abdurakhmanov made an unforgettable BRAVE CF debut, submitting Kyrgyzstan’s Manas Temirbekov in under five minutes.
Earlier in the evening, the main card kicked off with an impressive showing from Kyrgyz lightweight Nizambek Abdrashitov, who delivered a well-rounded display against Armenia’s Artur Arutyunyan, earning a convincing unanimous decision win.
