FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN’S senior men’s football national team kicked off their training in Tbilisi, Georgia yesterday as part of their week-and-a-half overseas camp in Europe.
The kingdom’s representatives, guided by Croatian head coach Dragan Talajic, are in the Georgian capital where they will play an international friendly game against the hosts on Friday.
They will then travel to Antalya, Türkiye, where they will face off with their counterparts from Syria on Tuesday next week in another exhibition contest.
The nationals practised yesterday with their full 27-player squad, including Bahrain’s foreign-based professional players who have now joined them for their trip after completing their duties with their respective clubs. Yesterday’s session included recovery exercises and light ball work.
The Bahrainis will continue their programme in Tbilisi today at the training pitches of Mikheil Maski Stadium, where they will be playing their tune-up on Friday.
Bahrain’s delegation in Europe is headed by Bahrain Football Association board member and senior men’s national team supervisor Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa Al Khalifa.
