The success of Ashoora season in Bahrain is a reflection of the kingdom’s standing in safeguarding religious freedoms and promoting the values of coexistence and tolerance, it has been affirmed.
The successful conclusion of this year’s event has been widely praised by heads of ma’atams, Hussainiya processions, and clerics, who asserted that the religious occasion represented an advanced model of organisation, security, and co-ordination among various government and community entities.
They expressed their deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad for his care and continued commitment to providing a suitable environment for the observance of religious rituals.
They also extended thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his continuous follow-up and support for all efforts to ensure success of the occasion and highlight the kingdom’s civilisational image.
They stressed that the royal patronage was the pillar of the season’s success, alongside the integrated government efforts that provided the needed services to observe Ashoora in an atmosphere of safety, reassurance and spirituality.
They also commended the prominent role of the Interior Ministry and security personnel, as well as the governorates, municipalities, endowments authorities, community police, and all concerned entities to ensure the safety of participants and the efficient management of events.
They further highlighted the contributions of ma’atam heads, organising committees, volunteers, and local residents, emphasising that the spirit of co-operation, discipline and social responsibility was a key factor in the season’s success and in reflecting the authenticity and cohesion of Bahraini society.
They noted that this year’s Ashoora season conveyed a civilisational message affirming that Bahrain is a pioneering model in respecting religious rituals and sectarian diversity.
They said that the success achieved reflects the strength of partnership between the state and society, embodies national unity and solidarity, and further reinforces the kingdom’s position as an oasis of security, stability, and tolerance.
Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh commended the significant efforts of the government led by HRH Prince Salman and the integrated services and capabilities provided by all relevant authorities, which contributed to the success of Ashoora.
He said that working as Team Bahrain under the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister reflects the efficiency of national institutions and their ability to achieve the highest levels of organisation and excellence, and highlights the kingdom’s distinctive civilised approach to hosting and supporting religious practices and rituals, in line with the National Action Charter and the Constitution of Bahrain.
The Shura Chairman also commended the efforts of the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Affairs Council, and all official community and voluntary bodies.
Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam said that the support of the King for Ashoora reflects his approach in promoting values of coexistence, religious tolerance and freedom of worship within a state of law and institutions.
The Speaker highlighted that the success of Ashoora was marked by strong compliance from all ma’atam, Hussainiyas and citizens with the laws, requirements and instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
