Bahrain is stepping up support for private sector investment in animal healthcare, with a senior government official praising the growing role of specialised veterinary services in protecting public health and strengthening animal welfare standards.
During a visit to Barri’s Veterinary Hospital in Saar, Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry under-secretary for Agriculture Assem Abdullatif said the ministry remains committed to backing high-quality investments that help develop Bahrain’s veterinary sector.
Mr Abdullatif, accompanied by ministry officials, was welcomed by hospital founder Dr Barri Hamed and co-founder Anoud Al Sharif.
He praised the private sector’s contribution to improving veterinary care, safeguarding animal wealth and creating opportunities to train Bahraini professionals.
During the tour, Mr Abdullatif reviewed specialist clinics, surgery rooms and intensive care units equipped with advanced veterinary technology.
Hospital officials said the facility treats an average of 40 cases daily, making it one of Bahrain’s leading specialist veterinary centres.
