ENDURANCE HORSERACING – THE children of His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa achieved outstanding results yesterday in the Samorin International Endurance Race, held in Slovakia.
Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa won the 100-kilometre international ride for juniors and youth, while Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa took first place in the 120km international race for juniors and youth.
The horse of Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa did not pass the veterinary examination in the international 120km race for the general public after the third stage.
Shaikh Nasser also participated in the 160km international race, but did not finish due to an injury.
Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the participation in Samorin was positive and achieved many of the goals that the team had set within its preparation programme, noting that the results achieved by the youngsters reflect the amount of work that has been done during the past period, and represent an important step in their preparation for the upcoming events, most notably the world junior and senior championships that will be held next year.
Shaikh Nasser praised the outstanding performances of the Royal Endurance Team riders during the race in various categories, appreciating their high spirits and great dedication throughout the competitions.
He affirmed that these results reflect the advanced position that Bahraini endurance sport has reached, wishing all riders success in the upcoming championships and continued achievements
