HOCKEY – Bahrain has been admitted as one of two new members of the Arab Hockey Federation (AHF).
This was approved at the AHF general assembly held in Muscat, Oman.
Bahrain Hockey Association (BHA) secretary general Malik Abid Awan attended the meeting.
Along with Bahrain, Iraq were also admitted to the AHF.
On the sidelines of the general assembly, Awan presented a commemorative hockey stick as a token of appreciation to Oman Hockey Association president Marwan Al Juma, who was elected as the AHF chief for the 2026-30 term.
Awan was also selected as a member of the new AHF executive committee.
It was decided during the gathering that the AHF’s new headquarters will be located in Muscat.
The AHF general assembly was also attended by International Hockey Federation (FIH) President Tayyab Ikram, and delegates from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, the UAE, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Oman, and Bahrain.
